Well, it seems Vox has decided to do away with both the QotD and VoxHunt. As answering one or both is the only reason I have a Vox account, expect little to no posting from me on this site from now on. I can still be found writing day to day on my LJ, should you want to come over.
Which popular slang expression drives you nuts?
It's less an expression than an entire method of expression: text & IM shorthand. I can deal with the occasional "k" for "OK", or the ones that make sense to shorten considerably, such as BRB or LOL. But "ur" for "your" or "you're" and the like, well, that makes me stabby.
Except, of course, for lolcats and similar. ;)
What do you think is too serious to joke around about?
Very few things are too serious, but some things are too close in time, or too close to home.
What is a "charmed life"?
To me, it's a life where one is free to do as one desires, without the burdens of debt and too much unwanted responsibility.
To the world, I suppose it's a life where everything seems to go right for someone.
I don't think anyone truly lives one.
What inspires you to blog?
The fact that it makes me write nearly every day. Thinking about words, how they best fit together, how they convey what I'm trying to say - it's important to me to keep that bit of my brain limber. Especially if I'm going to finish my novel(s) someday.
You crash your friend's car because you're driving too fast in bad weather. Everyone's okay, but the car has to go into the shop. Who pays the deductible?
I do, of course. How is this even in question? Have we really become so enamoured of not taking responsibility for our own actions in this era that we would try to wriggle out of paying a friend kind enough to lend his or her car, when its destruction is our fault?
If you could teleport to any place in the world right this second, where would you go?
I'm afraid to answer that. I'm afraid of where I want to go these days.
Who or what do you really love?
My family, and my forever-friends. My love for them knows no bounds.
What do you do when you find yourself with nothing to do?
Submitted by Cassie.
I never find myself with nothing to do. The world (and my apartment) is full of books waiting to be read.
